W: THE ART PROJECT FAQS

When can I submit my photographs?
Photography submissions will be accepted from October 1, 2009 through December 1, 2009.

How many photographs can I submit?
Each entrant can submit one image that must be jpg, jpeg, or gif files and cannot exceed 5MB for each file.

What else must be included with my entry?
An essay not to exceed 250 words describing your entry along with your biography that may not exceed 500 words. Incomplete entries will not be judged.

What kind of photography should I submit?
We're looking for photography that depicts the concept of obsession. Show us what obsession means to you. There are no restrictions on the color or treatment of images.

How will the photography entries be judged?
The judges will score entries based on the following criteria: Relevancy to theme, visual interest, expression of emotion, and creativity/originality.

How many winners will there be?
The winning photograph will be chosen through three stages of judging:

1) In the first round, our panel of professional judges will select 20 semi-finalists.
2) In the second round, which spans from December 21, 2009 to January 19, 2010,
     the semi-finalists’ work will appear online at wdesires.com/theartproject.
     Readers will vote to select five finalists.
3) From those selected five finalists, the professional judges will select one grand prize
    winner on or about January 27, 2010.

What is the grand prize package?
One grand prize winner will receive Voltz Clarke agency consultation, Nikon Professional Grade DSLR camera, PhotoShelter Pro website and a W Magazine promotional feature.
